Catherine joined Three Counties Equine Hospital in 2002 as Head Nurse, her particular interests being foal nursing, laboratory work and nurse education. She relinquished this role in September 2007 to become our full-time laboratory technician, a role that she held for several years before becoming part-time and sharing the role with Laura Underhill.
Outside of work Catherine sings in local choirs and enjoys walking, cooking and gardening. She is a member of various racing clubs, and has small shares in a few racehorses, and spends much free time at the races and stud/stable visits. Catherine was Team Leader of the Equine Veterinary Nurses at the London Olympics, looking after the horses at Greenwich Park. This amazing voluntary experience has inspired her to volunteer at events ranging from BE horse trials to the Tour De France.

Catherine joined us in August 2013. She spent the previous 7 years working in equine referral practices and qualified in 2011 from Myerscough Agricultural College whilst employed at Minster Equine Clinic in York. Her main areas of interest are scintigraphy, radiology and intensive care nursing, particularly the sick foals.
When she’s not working Catherine can often be found sitting at the bottom of a swimming pool, practicing for her freediving competitions! She can can hold her breath for 5m 10s and dive to depths of 30 meters on a single breath.
