Our reproduction/stud vets are experienced in fresh, chilled and frozen semen artificial insemination (AI) as well as natural breeding for Thoroughbred mares. Mares can be examined at home or can attend TCEH for management under an AI package deal.
We carry out routine health screening, vaccinations (such as EHV in the 5th, 7th and 9th months of pregnancy), bloods and swabs of mares & stallions, and can also carry out infertility investigations in both mares and stallions. We have facilities for frozen semen storage at TCEH and our lab is HBLB registered for CEM screening.
It is important to note that if you are importing semen from abroad for AI in the UK, that it is illegal for the semen to be shipped without an original valid health certificate (ITAHC) issued in the country from which the semen originated. A photocopy of the certificate is not sufficient.
