Crystal Ward

Crystal Ward EVN - Head Nurse

Crystal joined TCEH in 2006, having worked for the previous 4 years at the ILPH, now called World Horse Welfare. She is a qualified BHS assistant instructor and graduated from Hartpury College in 2010 with a diploma in Equine Veterinary Nursing. She is one of our clinical coaches so is involved in the training of our student veterinary nurses. Crystal has a special interest in AI, nutrition, intensive care and foal care, and is also one of our MRI nurses.

Outside of practice life Crystal has Captain, her horse who is enjoying his retirement, and she also owns several dogs (mostly spaniels) some of which she regularly competes with at agility.

Annie Rogers RVN - Deputy Head Nurse

Annie Rogers RVN - Deputy Head Nurse

Annie joined TCEH in 2012 as part of her 60 week work placement while studying towards a degree in equine veterinary nursing at Hartpury college. Annie continued to work part time during her final year of studies before returning full time after graduating in 2014. She has a particular interest in intensive care nursing and surgical nursing. Outside of work she has ex-racehorse, Des and black labrador, Inky to keep her busy.

Catherine Luke

Catherine Luke REVN - Equine Nurse

Catherine joined us in August 2013. She spent the previous 7 years working in equine referral practices and qualified in 2011 from Myerscough Agricultural College whilst employed at Minster Equine Clinic in York. Her main areas of interest are scintigraphy, radiology and intensive care nursing, particularly the sick foals.

When she’s not working Catherine can often be found sitting at the bottom of a swimming pool, practicing for her freediving competitions! She can can hold her breath for 5m 10s and dive to depths of 30 meters on a single breath.

Jessica Nickels

Sarah Kidd - BSc (Hons) RVN

Sarah joined TCEH in September 2018. She graduated from Writtle College with a BSc(Hons) in Equine Studies in 2013 and in 2022 from Hartpury University to qualify as an RVN. Sarah is one of our theatre and scintigraphy nurses and has a particular interest in emergency, surgical and intensive care nursing.

Outside of work Sarah enjoys spending time with her Labrador, George and her two horses, Poppy and ex-racehorse Mr Macho.

Kirsty Chaplin

Kirsty Chaplin - RVN

Kirsty joined the team in 2019 as one of our nursing assistants, she has a particular interest in emergency and intensive care nursing. She gained her RVN qualification from Hartpury in 2023.

Outside of work Kirsty enjoys walking her dogs and caring for her ponies.

Summer Cleal - RVN

Summer previously studied Level 3 Animal Management before realising she wanted to specialise in pure equine, and is now studying Equine Veterinary Nursing at Hartpury University. She joined TCEH in June 2021 for her placement year and since she’s been here she has developed an interest in theatre nursing and diagnostic imaging.

After owning her own horse for 6 years, she is taking a much needed break to concentrate on her studies.

Emily Concannon

Emily Concannon - RVN

Emily joined TCEH in September 2021 after completing her BSc Hons degree in Bioveterinary Science at Hartpury University. Whilst working on a sports horse stud alongside her studies, Emily gained experience with a range of competition horses, stallions and young stock where she developed a keen interest in foal care and AI. Since starting as a nursing assistant, Emily is looking forward to developing her skills in surgical and emergency nursing.

Outside of work Emily enjoys walking her dog Winston on the beach and fair-weather hacking!

Lauren Hall

Lauren joined the team at TCEH in 2021 after working in racing for 4 years. In 2017 Lauren completed her Bsc Hons degree in Equine Sports science and is particularly interested in intensive care nursing and breeding.

Outside of work Lauren enjoys riding racehorses and hacking out with friends.

Leah Burton - RVN

Leah joined TCEH in 2022 for her placement year at Hartpury university as part of her nursing degree, since then she has remained on the team part time whilst studying and finishing her degree. She has developed an interest in emergency nursing, and is looking forward to developing my knowledge.

In her spare time Leah enjoys walking her labrador Clover, who keeps her constantly busy with long walks on the beach and around the hills in the area.

Molly Robinson

Molly joined Three Counties Equine Hospital in July 2023 as part of her Hartpury University placement year. I have an interest all areas of the practice but particularly interested in nursing the emergency inpatients and enjoy theatre the more I am in there! Overall, I am enjoying gaining more experience in a practice setting and becoming more confident.

Outside of work I enjoy showjumping and caring for my horses as well as spending time with friends.
